Strong, Cyclical, and Unstoppable: Celebrating Women’s History Month
March is here, which means it’s time to celebrate Women’s History Month—a time to honor the trailblazers who paved the way, the powerhouses making history today, and the generations of women yet to come. As someone who is deeply passionate about helping women feel strong, empowered, and in tune with their bodies, this month holds special meaning for me.
Honoring Strength in Every Season
Women have always been strong—not just in the ways history books tell us, but in the quiet, everyday moments, too. Strength isn’t just about lifting heavy weights (though, let’s be real, that’s pretty awesome). It’s about the mother balancing work and family, the woman navigating her changing body through perimenopause, the young girl discovering her own power for the first time. It’s about resilience, adaptability, and embracing our natural cycles—something I center my work around every single day.
Training With, Not Against, Our Bodies
For too long, women have been expected to fit into training models that weren’t designed with our bodies in mind. We’ve been told to push through fatigue, ignore our cycles, and chase results without considering the way our hormones impact energy, strength, and recovery. But here’s the thing: our bodies are not the problem—outdated fitness and health narratives are.
That’s why I created The Strong & Cyclical Method™, a strength training approach that works with your body, not against it. Whether you’re in your follicular phase, ovulatory phase, luteal phase, menstrual phase, or transitioning through menopause, understanding your body’s natural rhythms can help you unlock your full potential.
Each phase of the menstrual cycle offers unique strengths—higher energy and strength gains during the follicular and ovulatory phases, and a need for more intentional recovery and lower-impact movement during the luteal and menstrual phases. And as we transition into menopause, our bodies shift again, requiring different approaches to training, nutrition, and recovery to maintain strength, confidence, and vitality.
Backed by Science
Research shows that training in sync with your cycle can enhance performance, reduce injury risk, and improve overall well-being. Studies have found that strength gains are often maximized during the follicular phase due to increased estrogen levels, while focusing on recovery and mobility in the luteal phase can help mitigate fatigue and burnout. And for those transitioning through menopause, strength training becomes even more critical in maintaining muscle mass, bone density, and metabolic health.
Real Women, Real Results
I’ve seen firsthand how this approach changes lives. Women in my Big Time Booty + Performance program and 1:1 coaching have shared incredible transformations—not just physically, but in how they feel in their bodies. They’ve gained strength, improved confidence, and finally found a training method that works for them, not against them.
One client shared: “I used to feel frustrated with my workouts, like I was always working against my body. Learning to train with my cycle has been a game-changer. I feel stronger, more energized, and finally in sync with myself!”
How to Get Started Today
Want to start working with your body instead of against it? Here are three simple steps:
- Track Your Cycle – Pay attention to your energy levels and strength fluctuations throughout the month. My Strong & Cyclical Journal is a great tool for this!
- Adapt Your Training – Incorporate strength work during high-energy phases (follicular & ovulatory) and prioritize recovery and mobility in the luteal & menstrual phases.
- Get Support – Whether it’s joining a structured program or working 1:1 with a coach, having guidance makes all the difference.
Making Your Own History
Women’s History Month isn’t just about looking back—it’s about recognizing that we are history in the making. Every time you choose to honor your body, prioritize your health, and show up for yourself, you are rewriting the narrative. You are proof that strength comes in many forms, and that empowerment isn’t about fitting into someone else’s mold—it’s about breaking it entirely.
So, this month, I challenge you to celebrate yourself. Lift something heavy. Fuel your body with intention. Rest when you need to. Support the women around you. And most importantly, never stop embracing the incredible force that you are.
Here’s to strong, cyclical, and unstoppable women—past, present, and future. 💪✨
