Having lived in three different states in the past four months has significantly disrupted my ability to build and maintain a lifestyle routine. Alike most people I am a creature of habit and I thrive with having a routine in my daily life. The feeling of control and stability that comes with consistency is one aspect of life I like to pursue. Don’t get me wrong, I am always down for a new adventure and excitement but after a while I find myself longing for consistency.
Being able to wake up in a clean and organized room, drinking a steaming cup of coffee as I journal or read a book, and then going for a morning run is an idyllic morning to me. In the afternoon eating a healthy lunch and then heading off to school or work, of course packing a couple snacks for the journey is customary. In the evening the joy of knowing I have “me time” ahead to end the day is something that keeps me excited head home.
As I build my rhythm I find more time in my days to dedicate to my passions and goals. Without a weekly rhythm I find it increasingly challenging to exercise consistently – enough to really make progress towards my goals. Exercise starts to push to end of my priority list, as things like unpacking my room or organizing the kitchen become more precedent. Doing what needs to be done and enjoying the process at the same time is a life saver. I feel like there is no need to excessively stress over “must do” things in life.
So, I challenge you all to relax and accept the changing rhythms in your life as they come and go. If you don’t like your current rhythm, then I challenge you to change the tune of your day.
Stay Fit,

Cassandra
