I like to spice up my workouts with a few essential must haves. Little things that keep me motivated and willing to put in the work. Anyone else with me?
When I go to workout – whether in the gym, outside at a park, or even just in my living room, I like to look cute. Not because I’m trying to get attention but because when I look good, I get an extra spark of motivation. Looking good makes me feel good – and therefore I want to put in the work to look and feel even better. My favorite thing to do when it comes to getting a new workout outfit is to go “break it in” and I’ve gotta say those days I have the most successful workouts.
Another top priority for me is to have a great water bottle. I have come to realize that when I have a bottle that is hard to drink out of, or is awkward to hold – I don’t drink the amount of water I know I should. I can honestly say I rarely drink water at all if I don’t like what it’s being carried it. In reality it doesn’t matter – water is water no matter what bottle it is carried in but mentally it enhances or brings down the amount of water I consume.
The last accessory that I spare no expense in order to get my workouts right is my headphones. Bumping music while lifting or running to a motivational podcast requires smooth sounds are great volume. Not to bash other peoples music choices but when I wanna be in the zone I definitely prefer my own jams. For me there is nothing worse than sprinting or squating and accidently pulling your headphones right out of your ear. Half way through your set and all the sudden … SILENCE. Luckily we have so many options of wireless headphones now that it shouldn’t be an persisting problem anymore.
