The healing powers of movement are incredible. The human body is meant to move, and move fluidly. Aches and pains are too often a part of our daily lives but they don’t have to be… or at least not constantly.
Using movement as medication for your body can open your eyes to a different side of the world. Mobility, flexibility, strength and endurance are all important to work on and train. The way you train in life should encompass each aspect to create a healthy and happy body.
My first thought when I feel an ache in my body is that I should move around a bit, even just standing up from my desk and walking around my apartment. If I am standing I’ll take a moment to squat down or stretch out my legs a little. A prolonged amount of time in any one position can a hindrance to the body. All in all it is important to use you body in a healthy and fluid manner. My philosophy is to MOVE your body before deciding to take any sort of pain reducer and see how you feel with movement.
