With no trainer, partner or teammates to keep you honest in your workouts what motivates you to push through your workouts?
Motivation: the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way.
Honest: free of deceit and untruthfulness; sincere.
What is an honest workout?
- this means you’re not cheating yourself, you push through every rep even if you’re feeling uncomfortable.
- You follow your workout plan; meaning every set and rep you were determined to do when you started – you finish.
- Work up into your uncomfortable heart rate zones & uncomfortable muscular fatigue.
- Don’t skip out on the warm up and cool down portions
How to keep your motivation present:
- review your goal board (if you don’t have one – make one)
- Understand the focus of your workout (what goal are you working towards)
- Play your favorite music
- Remember everything you do adds or subtracts from your goals (be mindful)
- Mix it up & try new ways to work towards your goals. Go to a class, pick a new piece of equipment to use … etc.
- enjoy what you’re doing
- Get a new workout outfit
Life is always going to give you ups and downs, it’s your job to know when you gotta give life a hit back. If life is going down, you jump up.
Get out and get active & of course enjoy your life.
